Model field: Dynamic content
The dynamic content field allows you to add an advanced editor without structured elements to your content item. It offers common text formatting options, such as headings, paragraphs, and social embeds, as well as more innovative fields such as content references and assets with cropping and alignment. For this everyday feature, we tried to make it as user-friendly as possible and optimize your workflow.

Managing dynamic content in models
To add the dynamic content field to your model, go to Settings > Publish > Models and select Dynamic content.
This dynamic content field offers ten different elements, with endlessly variable options you can manage in the models:
- Heading (including heading 1 - 6)
- Paragraph (including eight formatting options)
- Assets (including type choices and formatting options)
- Social (including all major social platforms)
- Quote, resource and location
- Content integrations (learn more about content integrations)
- Elements (learn more about elements)
Adding elements to the content field
The editor contains a large white area where you can type and easily decide which elements you want to add. To quickly add a new element in your field, press /, and a pop-up will appear with various elements to choose from. You can quickly add, change, delete, or move elements in the content reference.
To add an element to the dynamic content field after a paragraph or heading element, simply press ENTER. A new paragraph is immediately added, you can continue typing in the newly added paragraph.
There are two options to add an element halfway through your content item:
- Put your focus in the previous element and press ENTER.
- Click on an element and select 'Add below' in the pop-over.
Changing element types
You can change an empty element into all elements of all types. Simply click / in the paragraph, or select the element in the element dropdown.
Please note that you can only change a filled element type to an element of the same type.
Sorting elements in the content field
To change the position of an element in the dynamic content field, you can sort the elements. Select ' Move down' to lower the element one position, select 'Move up' to move the element up.
Removing elements from the content field
To remove a text element from the dynamic content field, empty the element and enter 'backspace'. The text element will now be removed. You can also remove any element by selecting 'Delete' in the element pop-over.
Using the dynamic content elements
Work fast and smart with the dynamic content field. This content field contains an infinite number of elements and formatting options. The content field feels direct, like a What You See Is What You Get editor. Headings appear as headings, paragraphs as paragraphs, and social embeds as social embeds.
Choose the heading that fits your content item. The display is immediately changed to the heading of your choice. You can easily change a heading element to another heading or paragraph by making a selection from the dropdown options.
The paragraph element contains numerous formatting options. You can use bold text, italic, and underlined. Bullets (ordered and unordered), links, and tables are also available. Enable code to insert code to your content item. Click ENTER to add a paragraph element, use SHIFT ENTER to insert a break.
To add one or more assets, select the Asset element via / or the element dropdown. When you allow caption, alignment, or image presets in the model, those options will be available in the content item. Learn more about image presets and alignment.
Social elements are embeds of the largest social media platforms. Select one of the platforms via / or the element dropdown. Insert the URL of thfretue social post, an embed example will be displayed. Social embeds are available for Twitter posts, Facebook posts, Instagram posts, Spotify playlists, YouTube posts, SoundCloud posts, Vimeo posts, and TikTok posts.
The quote element allows your content field to emphasize something the main character of the content item said or explained.
A resource element contains a URL field and a label. You can switch the type of the resource field to a webpage, audio, video, document, and others. Useful when your front-end uses different types of views for different resource elements.
This element displays the location, based on a Google Map address, or coordinates.
The content integration element allows you to reference content in an external CMS, a legacy system of an eCommerce platform. A content Integration allows an editor to easily add items to content items. Prepr will even keep the data in sync automatically. Learn more about content integrations.
